Newark, NJ — On Wednesday, August 7, Cory Booker will deliver a major speech on gun violence and the rising tide of hatred and white nationalism in America at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. Mother Emanuel is one of the nation’s oldest black churches. It was the site of a horrific 2015 mass shooting in which a white supremacist murdered nine African-American congregants including the Senior Pastor, Reverend Clementa Pinckney, at bible study.
