Beto O’Rourke Returns to the Granite State for Visits to 7 New Hampshire Communities

MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- On July 12th, Beto O’Rourke will return to New Hampshire, starting Friday evening by addressing activists and advocates at a Lights for Liberty Vigil in Peterborough amidst growing calls to end the cruel and cynical immigration policies of the Trump Administration.

On Saturday, Beto will start his day in Amherst before headlining the Manchester Democrats Potluck Picnic in the Park. Following his third visit to the Queen City since announcing his candidacy, Beto will head north to host town halls in Andover and Meredith.

On Sunday, Beto will meet privately with New Hampshire faith leaders ahead of hosting an immigration-focused town hall in Nashua, the state’s most diverse city, before holding a final town hall event in Brentwood on Sunday evening.

Beto’s two immigration-focused events on both sides of the state underscore his effort to tell the stories of the migrants and asylum seekers upon whom our government is visiting suffering and injustice in our name. Beto’s immigration plan would free hundreds of New Hampshire Dreamers and their parents from any fear of deportation by making them U.S. citizens, and create a path to citizenship for 11 million people living in the United States. It would also provide relief to New Hampshire residents with Temporary Protected Status - including hundreds of Haitian and Nepalese immigrants, increase visa caps, and eliminate any concerns about funding being diverted from critical improvement projects at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to fund an unnecessary wall at our Southern border. The plan also prevents the unnecessary transfer of northern border CBP agents to the southern border, protects New Hampshire tourism, and invests in Northern Triangle countries in Central America to fight violence and poverty, ensuring migrants don’t have to flee their home countries in the first place.
